FSA proposals to protect clubs supported by FA

Posted by Tom Greatrex (FSA vice chair) 18th October 2019
Yesterday FSA vice chair Tom Greatrex spoke at the FA, alongside FSA chair Malcolm Clarke, and put forward our proposals which seek to protect our historic clubs from the wrecking ball antics we’ve seen by some owners. We’re delighted to say the FA Council passed our resolution unopposed and we look forward to working with the FA and other football stakeholders in the months ahead. Read on for ext...

And finally... Slabhead

Posted by The FSA 17th October 2019
Basford United's Slef Galinski scored an astonishing goal against FC United this week and the first of its kind that we can remember - a headed goal from inside his own half, albeit helped by some comically bad goalkeeping. Basford went on to win 3-1.

And finally... Simple Simon

Posted by The FSA 11th October 2019
Everyone please welcome Simon Sluga to the And finally... club with a solid seven-out-of-ten letting the ball slip under his foot and into the goal effort. The second goal, in the Hatters' 2-0 defeat to Derby, was a bit suspect on Sluga's part too.

During the break no Premier League or Championship fixtures will be taking place – so Non-League Day gives fans who normally follow the professional game a chance to sample their local non-league side. Over the last ten years Non-League Day has grown to be one of t...

Fan campaign hits target for player who was 'one of us'

Posted by Asif Burhan 8th October 2019
Writer Asif Burhan reports from Suffolk about a remarkable campaign to remember the contribution of Kevin Beattie to Ipswich Town's greatest ever side... When the only statues outside your football ground are of two knights, each of whom led England to the latter stages of the World Cup, you know you have to do something special to be immortalised in bronze outside Portman Road. Those who were luc...

And finally... Bees for effort

Posted by The FSA 4th October 2019
The Bees beat Barnsley 3-1 at the weekend but we'd like to highlight this concentration of mishaps from the first half - with two Brentford forwards conspiring to miss three gilt-edged chances in the space of five seconds. You love to see it.
