Once again we're supporting The Non-League Paper's National Game Awards and we're looking for your nominations in the Non-League Away Day of the Year category.
At the FSF, we don't stop talking about the importance of travelling supporters who we reckon are vital to the atmosphere at matches and the additional revenue they bring to non-league clubs.
A noisy and colourful away following really adds to the atmosphere at a match and can add colour to even the poorest of games.
The Non-League Away Day of the Year award covers the top four tiers of the non-league game and seeks to acknowledge those clubs who go a bit further in making away fans welcome.
Facilities vary across these top four tiers of the non-league game, and we are inviting nominations at each of the individual Steps 1 - 4 of the National League System.
A judging panel will decide the winning club at each level with those clubs receiving an award from the FSF and The Non League Paper. The winners of each individual step will then be considered for the National Non-League Away Day of the Year Award.
Last season’s winner was Step 3 club Kings Langley in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, who were commended by visiting fans for their warm welcome to visiting supporters.
Tranmere Rovers won at Step 1 and secured promotion to the EFL - in doing so they were praised for the facilities that away fans enjoyed as well as the welcome they received from club officials and the home supporters.
Bognor Regis Town won the award at Step 2 and Bamber Bridge at Step 4. We want to know who has provided the best away day experience in the 2018-19 season.
Nominations should be submitted by this short form and specify why a particular club should be considered, this could include: quality of accommodation for away fans, food and drinks offer, ticket pricing, warmth of the welcome, attitude and behaviour of stewards and home supporters.
The awards acknowledge best practice and we want to use them to encourage all clubs to look at how the match day experience for away fans can be improved making the match experience better for us all.
Nominations close on Tuesday 8th May.
