Statement from the Spurs Trust on ticket price freeze

The below is a statement on behalf of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust

The Board of THST was pleased by yesterday’s confirmation of the freezing of Season Ticket and match day ticket prices for the 2014-2015 campaign by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

This was the culmination of a sustained drive by THST around ticket pricing, that reflected strong feelings on the issue by our members. Our efforts included the open letter to THFC articulating our wish for a freeze on next year’s prices, dated 10th February, which can be read in full here.

THST is acutely aware of the difficulties many of our traditional fanbase are experiencing with high ticket prices. Whilst the freeze is a step in the right direction, there is much work still to be done to not only halt but reverse the usual trend of year-on-year increases. THST is fully committed to continued lobbying for accessible pricing  over the forthcoming season.

In addition to the price freeze, THFC also confirmed a rise in the concessionary age from 16 to 18. Again, THST has been vocal in its desire for such an increase. Nurturing future generations of Spurs fans is a primary objective and we are pleased THFC shared our stance on the area of concessions.

We are particularly pleased that this announcement comes as a result of the kind of genuine consultation fans have been calling for for some time.

We look forward to a continued, productive dialogue with THFC over the forthcoming campaign, and we urge all Spurs fans to join the Trust to help us continue to make our voice heard at board level.
